Reto Kromer accepted to contribute two parts to the Biennial Audio-Visual Archival Summer School (BAVASS) at the Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, United States of America, from 13 to 26 May 2019. Months later, when his preparations were well advanced, the Indiana University asked him to present for free, while they would cover only travel and accommodation expenses, and he agreed. Eventually, Indiana University asked him not only to teach for free, but also to cover all of the expenses himself. Since Reto Kromer neither owns a bank nor knows the recipe for turning lead into gold, he had to decline.
