Before the Restoration

Presentation made at the Restoration of Film Heritage symposium, 11–12 April 2017, Slovenska Kinoteka / Slovenian Cinematheque, Ljubljana, Slovenia.

Abstract

What is needed before the restoration can even begin, in order to make available the best possible file? A little about ethics, the main part about preparation of the «originals» and the digitisation of the sources, a little about file formats for further restoration work and preservation.
