The New ProRes RAW Flavour
What do we know yet about the new Bayer-based formats, presented by Apple on the 4th of April 2018? Is it an alternative to the CineForm RAW (VC-5) video codec for movie film scanners?
From QuickTime to Matroska (or Material eXchange Format)
As Apple discontinued the support of their proprietary QuickTime (.mov) container, archives should re-wrap their ProRes 422 and 4444 files into Matroska (.mkv) during the next data migration. Such files can be normally played with the VLC media player. And, in a near future, the Material eXchange Format (.mxf) container should offer another possibility to re-wrap ProRes 422 and 4444 files.
